Does anyone know a quick way to change the colors of all your friends? (The colors you can change here.)
For the longest time I colored most everyone with black text and a tan background because it matched my layout. But the brown doesn't look good on the flist anymore.
I started doing it manually, but YEESH. That's a LOT of cutting and pasting. I want to say there should be an easier way, but it's LJ, so maybe not.
ETA: Problem solved!!

- Driving was wretched this morning. I could go into detail, but summed up it's basically "BLAH BLAH FISHCAKES."
- This shot of Disneyland is gorgeous. I just made it my computer's background. :D (Yes, that's actual snow above Los Angeles.)
- I'm zero-ing in on a laptop. A Sony VAIO. The drawbacks seem to be that the battery life isn't so wonderful, and it's only a 1366x768 resolution. I think I could live with both. On the battery thing, are there external batteries I could buy to plug my laptop into if I wanted? It's not something I need immediately, but it'd be nice if I was planning a long trip. (I'm fairly clueless when it comes to laptop-related things.)
- HA! Just ordered the laptop! No going back now!
- We have so much cakes, cookies and candy in our office now - all as gifts. *is really wishing for a fruit basket* :D

I'm behind again, thanks to a work walkout by me on Friday (which I'll post about when I have more time) and a couple of days spent up in Christchurch. I have pictures to post to.
Day 12 -- Whatever tickles your fancy

My ultimate car, the 1970 Boss 302 Mustang (though the one on the upper right is a 351, I'd be happy with the 351 too). Which I will. Own. One. Day. We were up in Christchurch this weekend and came across 3 for sale in caryards up there. Alas, $70k is a lot of money to come by. But one day, I shall have one.
Day 13 -- A fictional book

The last book I finished, and enjoyed. It was sweet and touching and heartbreaking and shocking. Naturally, I had to watch the movie afterwards.
Day 14 -- A non-fictional book

I'm trying to do research on the novel idea I've been playing with. It's hard to find good and not totally confusing literature on Time Travel and Parallel Universe. Plus, the copy I have has a TARDIS on the front and covers the sort of sciency things you find in movies.
Day 15 -- A fanfic

I've just finished this fic and loved it - by oso_intricate, it's Big Bang Theory, Sheldon/Penny end of the world fic, because I can't get enough of Sheldon and Penny at the moment. Cover art is by salixlikescake.

Today was a 10-hour work day - as in, I got in at 7:30am and didn't leave until after 5:30pm; I have to make cherry or raspberry mousse for tomorrow's dessert; and I'm feeling depressed again.
Oblivion sounds bloody good right now, whether at the bottom of a bottle or in the headlights of a Mack truck.

For a Christmas wishlist I did a while back, one of the things I listed was a shiny new LJ layout. mls03j stepped in and offered, AND IT IS PRETTY! AND SHINY! AND *PETS*! And if I ever get tired of the main picture, I can slip a new one it.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
ETA: And another present just turned up! ladychi wrote dinner party fic! \o/ XD

1. Cats are the funniest things when they're running full-tilt. Well, they don't exactly run, do they? They kinda...bounce. Bouncy-bouncy-bouncy-bounce!
2. In spite of all the exercise I've been doing, my girth has been steadily increasing these last few months. It's very frustrating.
3. Family dwamallamas for Christmas. Not the immediate family, but the oldest uncle's ex-wife trying to cadge an invitation from the family hosting the Christmas do. And kerfuffle-age thereof. I hope he isn't reading this. (Sorry, Uncle S!)
4. If I skipped the sleep part of my life, do you think I'd manage to get all the things done that need to be done? No, I didn't think so, either.
5. THE HOLIDAY LOVE MEME!!

Friday night: work Christmas party Saturday night: b'day party for arabel Sunday night: sci-fi group party
Overall, I had a good time. Food was average, company was good, dance floor was very good. I like dancing - retro, songs I can sing to - music is a big weakness for me. So I love going out dancing.
I don't do it very often. Mostly, because I'm not willing to go out among strangers and really let myself go. That's not who I am. When I dance - the real, no-holds-barred, body jiving, it's among people I know and usually like. This usually means private parties with a DJ and a dance floor, few of which I'm invited to anymore. (21sts and weddings were the main reasons and, well, my friends are mostly over 21 and married now.)
So I do enjoy the opportunity to dance with people I know, and I don't get it very often. It probably showed tonight, since I kept chivvying people onto the dance floor: reluctant colleagues, people who just needed a little encouragement...upper level management... I pretty much herded our project financial officer out on the floor and showed him how to dance when he protested he couldn't. (Sel's dance lessons for the unco: bounce up and down on the spot in time to the music, bending your knees, and similarly bounce your hands in the air - again, in time to the music. Works a dream every time!)
Anyway, someone noted that I knew the words to all the songs we were dancing to and that I looked like I was enjoying myself. And I was!
( well, up until about 11:30 )
The party was otherwise really enjoyable, and although I was invited to go out after; I declined. Partly because I don't go out without someone I trust to get me home unmolested - someone who has a personal stake in my well-being. It's a trust issue. I don't tempt fate, I don't risk my well-being. And while I know the faces of some of the people going out, I'm not sure I know anything more about them, let alone trust them if I have to be dragged home at 5am...
Also, the parentals are coming over to do work on the yard. 8am on a Saturday morning.
That's 6 hours from now!
I'd better get some actual sleep.

I suck, but this week has kicked my ass. To the degree that at 11am this morning, after a bout of tears, I walked up to my Team Leader and told her I couldn't be at work today, and left.
Day 08 -- A photo that makes you angry/sad
I, as a rule, don't look at pictures that make me angry. But, I definitely have a few pictures that make me sad:

Our lovely Ralph, who we sadly had to leave behind in Auckland with a lovely family because our new house doesn't have any yard at all for him. I miss him like crazy, big goofy mutt that he was.
Day 09 -- A photo you took
Now this is hard, because I've taken so many. And I was going to steal halowrites idea of a collage but alas, I don't have the time. So, one of my favourites pics, from one of my favourite places in Dunedin - The Mole at Aramoana.

Day 10 -- A photo of you taken over ten years ago
This is one thing I can't do the moment - all our old pics are in a box under the stairs, piled under other boxes that we still haven't unpacked yet. I shall endeavour to try and find them and scan one up tomorrow.
Day 11 -- A photo of you taken recently
Ugh. I'm so fat.

- I've been going through Wire in the Blood lately. I'm now convinced that the UK is completely full of serial killers. :D I mean, I'm enjoying it and all, but every other day - psychotic serial killers! IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK, NEVER WALK ALONE. OR...ANSWER THE DOOR. OR DRIVE. OR STAND IN AN OPEN SPACE. SRSLY. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. Handy that they pop up one at a time, though. (Side note - so far I like Alex okay, but she's no Carol. However, I don't miss Carol as much as I thought I was going to.)
- Two weeks until Christmas! O_O I'm glad I already have my shopping done, because it always seems to come up fast for some reason.
- I've got my eye on a laptop. Now begins the process of thinking about it for a while. Then going over the specs. Then thinking about it. Then looking at it again. Then really thinking about it...
- I was planning on getting my hair cut, but I've been so dizzy today. Hasn't happened like this in a while. BLEH. But funny thing - I kept veering sideways on my treadmill last night. XD
ETA: Of course part of that could have come from the swervey camera motions of LotR I was watching.
Sam: *falls down the stairs* Me: SHIT! *GRABS THE ARMS ON THE TREADMILL*

GLEE, HOW ARE YOU SO AWESOME?
(I'm sorry, it had to be said.)
Also, I give up trying to explain the concept of a mid-season hiatus to my family.
Okay, but the episode? !!!!!!!!!!!
( Quick spoilery love because it's past my bedtime )
SRS BSNS, if you're still catching up on the show *cough* seldear*cough* you need to hurry up and get caught up before you're totally spoiled. Possibly by me. BWAHAHA.
Tomorrow: HALFTHREEQUARTERS-NEKKID BOOTH!
